Volunteer Orientation Classes
All individuals interested in becoming a YVAS volunteer MUST go through Volunteer Orientation first. Volunteer Orientation is limited and fills up on a first come, first serve basis. At Volunteer Orientation, we will go over the Volunteer Program at YVAS, basic policies and procedures, and have you participate in a tour of the facility. After the tour you can fill out and submit your volunteer application and waiver form to be reviewed by our Activities Coordinator, Courtney Pomeroy. You will then be invited to a volunteer interview. To sign up for Volunteer Orientation please contact Courtney at 406-294-1137 or email@example.com.
Here are some of the most common things we needs volunteers to help us with:
- Feeding, cleaning, socializing and caring for our cats
- Cleaning, walking and socializing with our dogs
- Offsite event staffing
- General cleaning and laundry throughout the shelter
- Foster Families for young kittens
- Assisting before, during, and after our spay/neuter clinics
- Pet grooming
- Clerical assistance
*Please note that some of these duties require additional training, which will be discussed at Volunteer Orientation.
