Bella is a pitbull mix…but prefers the term “couch hippo.” She’s an older gal, we believe her to be about 10. She has been in our family for 4 years, but lots of places you rent don’t allow couch hippos! Bella has been spayed and has all her vaccinations. She is arthritic and needs medication, and has allergies so needs special food.

Bella is white with short hair. She has a long tail (the better to whip you with, my dear), dainty paws (for the tippy-tap dance) and un-cropped ears with adorable brown spots (my gramma calls them “raisin flaps”).

Bella enjoys time outside to lay in the sun, likes to chase a ball a couple times before she’s worn out. Her favorite treat is pig ears. She is crate trained, and would come with her crate, pillow, and raised puzzle bowl.

We are not happy about needing to find her a new home. She is very, very loved. We have had a several instances of aggression. We know she has food aggression, so all our pets have dinner in their crates. Bella does give warning growls to strangers and barks at new animals.

The issue has been…seemingly unprovoked, random snaps/bites. She has killed a kitten, snapped at (and sometimes chomped on) our Pomeranian and Chiweenies. She snapped at a child, but was inside her crate at the time. Most recently, and the “last straw,” was when she bit a Chihuahua I was pet-sitting. It was completely unprovoked. It was a dog she was familiar with. We had to seek emergency vet care for the Chihuahua (he’s okay, thank goodness!) but this was frightening for all of us. We have small children in our home, plus little dogs and cats. It feels unsafe to have her with them, so we are taking everyone outside separately, and having human time separately. She deserves a home where she doesn’t have to “take turns” to be with her people.
