I rescued Bruce (formerly known as Willis) from the YVAS in mid December 2025, and one of the resident vets thinks he was hit by a car because she had to stitch the right side of his face together, which required removing some of the skin, and one of his canines was broken off at the root. (Hence the slightly A-symmetrical face lol.) Bruce is chipped and l believe all of that info should be on that profile. Bruce really is a sweet kitty, and the only reason I’m surrendering/ re-homing him is because he won’t stop meowing between 2 and 6 in the morning and I live in a one bedroom loft house with an open floorplan and I’m a very light sleeper. I tried letting him outside, letting him back in, getting him more food and nothing seems to consistently work.
Bruce needs to go to a home with no other cats because he’s a bit territorial, but I don’t know how he does with dogs. He honestly might do great with dogs but I never had any around him in the 8 months I had him. It’s very important that he goes to a home where he’s able to go outside but one that he can also come inside and get some love and human interaction — I’m fairly certain that he previously lived in a home and was possibly dumped or something, because he knows how to drink from the faucet in the shower and how to use the litter box.
Likes include:
•Catnip, and catnip filled mice.
•His stuffed fish
• Scratches anywhere on his head, likes belly scratches but only if he asks and usually only first thing in the morning or after a nap.
•Stretching out in the sun naps and taking naps. •Laser pointers (in moderation).
Dislikes:
•Thunder, rain or high winds.
•Not being able to go outside as he pleases.
Pros:
•Great mouser, and he doesn’t eat them or mutilate them.
•Uses litter box.
•Doesn’t jump up on counters unless bacon or cream cheese is left out lol.
Diet:
He’s been eating ¾ cup of Iam’s healthy adult with chicken (in the orange bag) per day, with a little over ½ml of EicosaDerm omega 3 fish oil in the afternoon. The pads of his paws were really dry and chapped and Dr. Patty Rickard recommended some and it has made a big difference
