We’ve had the cat for 5.5 years, was taken in as a stray around 6 months old (told age by vet). We’ve hoped for 5 years that she would become more friendly and come out of her shell more. She has a little bit, but now we also have a small child. The cat does not like the chaos of a house with a small child-she hides in one room and hisses/growls to prevent any contact. With one adult she can be quite friendly (and as vocal as a Siamese). She needs a quiet home with ideally one or two adults, no kids, no other pets. She does well with a litter box as long as it is near her hiding spot (eg she will not walk across a scary house to get to a litter box). As long as she can get to it, she hasn’t had any accidents. Though she will growl at kids she has never bitten anyone or even come close. Indoor only (outside would be too scary).
As long as we’ve had her we’ve had a dog-but they do not really interact-she prefers to be alone (no other cats, no dogs). She loves sitting on a heated bed or sitting on a window bed watching birds. If the house is quiet, she likes sitting next to you and having her belly scratched.
Spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines.
