If you’re interested in adopting Phoenix, contact his caregiver directly at 406-425-4402 or [email protected].
Phoenix has been working hard on overcoming some of his struggles. After spending almost a year in a shelter, with no mental or physical stimulation. His mental health was bad enough that he chewed all the hair off of his tail and only trusted a couple people enough to handle him.
He’s been with me since June and is making great progress! He currently lives with 6 other dogs and does really well with them. Though, he’d do best in a home without a dominant male. He’s met cats and sees them all the time on our walks, and couldn’t care less about them. Phoenix takes a minute to warm up to new people, but give him a little space and play a game of fetch and he’ll be your best friend! He knows all his basic obedience, is crate trained, off leash trained, and is a great traveling partner. His favorite things in the world, is swimming and playing fetch. He would do both all day if you let him! I started him in dock diving this summer and he would absolutely love someone to continue that with him.
You can have the best of both worlds with Phoenix. He’s always up for any adventure, loves training, and can keep up with all the activities. But in the house, he’ll usually pass out next to my feet and is content just relaxing for the evening.
Given his history, I won’t place Phoenix in a home with young kids.
If interested in meeting him, you can reach me best by email or text. I am more than happy to do trial runs with him as well.
