Raise the Roof: BARKitecture Design Contest & Silent Auction
Calling All Builders, Makers, and Creatives!
Get ready to build for a cause! Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter is thrilled to present our first-ever “Raise the Roof” Barkitecture Design Contest and Silent Auction – a creative competition and fundraising evening like no other. We’re teaming up with local makers, builders, and artists to auction off custom-designed animal houses and play structures, all to benefit our Paws & Rebuild Campaign for a new facility. Think you’ve got what it takes? Bring your boldest, most imaginative design to life and compete for the ultimate title of “Best in Show.” The night will also feature live music, a laid-back catered dinner, local brews, and a chance to learn how your support helps us build a brighter future for animals in need.

Design Categories
Entries will be grouped by species – Dog and Other (including cats and chickens)
Building Guidelines
- – There is no fee to enter. To participate, complete the entry form by May 1, 2025, to participate. Be ready to drop off your barkitecture to ZooMontana by 1 PM on Friday, May 30, 2025.
- – Barkitecture structures and playhouses can be no larger than the bed of a pickup truck.
- – All creations will be auctioned off during the “Raise the Roof” Barkitecture event with 100% of proceeds being donated to Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter (YVAS) as part of the Paws & Rebuild Capital Campaign.
- – Builders will receive two event tickets, be recognized at the event, and be featured in future YVAS promotional materials.
- – YVAS reserves the right to use images for promotional materials.
- – Entrants will have chances to win special prizes in each category as well as “Best in Show.”
