AKC Canine Good Citizen: Obedience Classes
AKC’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) course is a ten-skill training program that’s open to all dogs, purebreds and mixed breeds, that focuses on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community. CGC also lays the foundation for other AKC sports and activities like obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. Some homeowners’ insurance programs even offer discounts for CGC dogs, and an increasing number of apartments and condos see CGC awards as a major bonus for becoming a resident!
Our CGC course is a six (6) week program led by our certified, AKC Approved CGC Evaluator. Beginning on April 5th, classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 PM at our Learning Center. Please note that classes will not meet the week of April 26th. The program cost is $165 which includes the CGC test at the end of the course.
