Hiking Hounds

Hello Hikers, welcome to Hiking Hounds!

Hiking Hounds is a monthly group hike with our shelter dogs, happening on the last Sunday of each month from May to September. Enjoy the outdoors, give our pups some love, and help them shine outside the shelter.

This month, we will be hiking Four Dances Rim Loop, a moderate 2-mile trail with rocky terrain and a valley landscape.

Please keep in mind: Participation with dogs is limited based on availability and their well-being. Not every adoptable dog will be eligible to hike, and not every participant may be able to walk a dog for the full duration.

Dogs will be loaded at the shelter (5056 Jellison Rd) at 8:00 AM, and we will depart together for the trailhead.

Participants must be at least 16 years old. Parent-child duos may participate, but the adult must maintain control of the leash at all times. If a child is present in the vehicle, the dog must ride in a crate. Children must be at least 10 years old.

We will provide crates for transport, but you may choose not to use one at your own discretion. Please note, crates are recommended for your safety and the safety of the dogs.
