The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is: Be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. (James 1:19) My favorite word in the English language is: Love. Love is patient love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant or rude. It does not demand it’s own way. It is not irritable and keeps no record of being wronged. The most inspiring part of my job is: This is two-fold. One being that the shelter is taking care of the physical needs of homeless animals while in transition to finding a new home and secondly that the shelter provides life-changing medical care to sick and injured animals. Cats or dogs: Well, I guess that is a matter of what stage in my life we are discussing! When I was younger and more active I was most definitely a dog person. Later on in life a cat adopted me. After we got our own place we adopt a dog and then it mushroomed from there! We’ve had both over the years but now that we are older and have no more dogs I am definitely a cat person! The best advice I would give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars is: Be prepared to work hard! This job is not for the faint of heart. There will be many high spots along the way but also there are many heartbreaking moments. Focusing on all the good that is being done here and realizing that you’ve done all that you can will help you get through those tough times.
