Did you know that one in three pets will go missing in its lifetime? This is why it’s so important to make sure that your pet wears a collar with ID tags and/or is microchipped. Here at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, we can help with both!
Engraved ID Tags
Many pets wearing tags never step foot into the shelter because citizens will often contact the owner themselves. Also, ID-ing cats is a great indicator to people that an indoor/outdoor cat indeed has a home.
We are happy to offer custom engraved ID tags made right here at YVAS. Tags come in a variety of colors, shapes, and fonts – all for only $10!
Microchipping
A collar ID tag is a great start, but it’s not enough. Collars break, tags fall off, or become hard to read. A microchip will permanently identify your pet if it gets lost or is ever stolen. In short, microchips are a small device implanted between your pet’s shoulder blades. As an owner, it is important to make sure that the information linked to your pet’s microchip is kept up to date (new phone numbers, addresses, etc.).
YVAS offers walk-in microchipping services for only $20! Registration is also included.
