We are proud to report that Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter is officially a Fear Free shelter!
So what exactly is Fear Free…? Fear Free is a national program that provides education to shelters, rescues, and volunteers about animals’ emotional needs. Fear Free empowers animal caregivers with strategies and techniques designed to reduce the negative emotional states that are commonly experienced by shelter and rescue animals – including fear, anxiety, stress, and frustration – and increase their enrichment opportunities.
Recently ALL of our staff members graduated from this program, so we’ve gotta give them a round of applause! Our shelter is always evolving, striving for the betterment of the organization in order to provide the best care for our animals.
