Luna is a 7-year-old, 100 pound, beautiful, loyal, and intelligent guardian breed dog who excels at working! She thrives guarding chickens but with proper introductions would excel around other farm animals. If a raccoon, feral cat, or any sort of threat to her flock enters her property, she chases them off accordingly. For this reason, Luna’s best home would have land: be it some acreage, a working farm, or a ranch.
Luna also loves lounging on the couch, going for long hikes in the mountains, getting her head and ears scratched, running around with large male dogs only, and patrolling the perimeter of her home.
Luna has received guardian breed specific training, is up to date on all of her vaccines and labs, and will come with 3 months of heartworm/flea preventative (Simparica), a large bag of the food she eats, a slow-feeder bowl, as well as current vet records. She is kennel-trained, responding to “in your house” when it’s time for her to go in. She can sit, stay, and lay down. She also walks confidently on a gentle leader leash, and has been potty-trained since puppyhood. Due to the nature of her breeding and age, Luna cannot live with small children, puppies, small dogs, or female dogs. In the event that any of these come to her home, it is recommended that Luna is secured in a kennel or another barrier-protected place so she can feel safe.
She has lived with both young and senior cats her whole life, but with baby gated areas that allows cats to exit to safety when she is feeling playful.
More than anything, Luna loves to lay around a shop or garage environment while her people companions fix up things or hang out. She would make an excellent shop dog! Luna would thrive best under strong leadership with someone who knows and loves dogs well. In particular, she responds best to large men with beards and hats, a rarity among rescue dogs.
